Thursday’s Keeneland Spot Plays
October 14th, 20101st) Dropping into a maiden claimer for the first time, PAR LADY had a rough break in her last start. If the daughter of Borrego can repeat her second place finish one race back, she could be posing for pictures at a big price.
2nd) FORTHEBOYSATTHEBAR likes Keeneland and has been in sharp form lately. She looks like she can take this field wire-to-wire.
3rd) NORMA’S DREAM sports the powerful “change of pace” pattern and drops into a claiming race for the first time. Trainer Tevis McCauley andjockey Robby Albarado win at 40% clip and his presence signals all systems are “go.”
4th) Very green in his first start, WHAT’S THE RECORD came back with a sensational work since that race. Adding jockey Calvin Borel can only help, and the form was flattered when Luxury Appeal came back to win.
9th) TALENTED TWIST has shown the ability to rate which is a huge plus in this speed-laden field. The cozy outside draw and cagey longshot jockey Willie Martinez add to her appeal, especially if her 12-1 morning line holds up.
